I've got a plan to create some modular tutorial "packages." (Link to a separate page that lists those and the individual modules.) I've benefitted from a lot of online tutorials, so it's time to give back to the Internet!
- Math (trig in particular; i guess algebra too; matrix math would be helpful to me to write about! and of course Probability: probability calculus, permutations & combinations, binomial probability, problems (frequentist vs Bayesian, base rate fallacy)...)
- Programming (simple games focusing on different modules: nibbles for SVGs, e.g.)
- Game Theory (refer back to statistics, utilitarianism, decision theory, priz dilemma & caterpillar vs rationality -- so, some links between tutorials and just-plain essays, I guess)
- Game Design, if i can think of anything worth mentioning. (There's the binomial probability thing, and whatever else might be useful from stats..) At least talk about whatever principles I can come up with: race mechanics, kingmaking, "dynamic difficulty adjustment"... strategy vs. tactics vs. luck. The "fun per person-hour" metric.
